Requirements and Application Procedure
Students apply for one of the two focus areas and are admitted to a focus area according to their pre-qualification. In addition to the usual pre-qualification (first degree, a Bachelor's degree from a recognized higher education institution), evidence must be provided for the focus areas:
European Social and Economic Policy Analysis
- BA degree in social sciences or economics with at least 18 CP in quantitative methods
- English language skills at the C1 level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Proof can be provided by an adequate language test at level C1 of the CEFR.
European Social and Cultural Policy Analysis
- BA degree covering at least 40 CP in two of the following subjects: Political Science, Sociology, History, Cultural Studies, Linguistics or Media Studies.
- English language skills at the C1 level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- At least three months of experience abroad prior to commencing studies is desirable.
Checklist for your application (with a foreign qualification)
Keep in mind:
- Collecting documents and ordering translations may take time
- The period for the electronic application is mid April - 15 July and hard copies may be required
- Uni-assist may ask for documents additional to the requirements of the MA European Studies
Collect documents:
- Look closely at the Uni-assist website to see what documents you need (depends on your country of education)
- Obtain certified copies of your documents and certificates
- If necessary, organize official translations of your documents into English or German
- Make copies of your documents
Submit application online:
- Register with Uni-assist
- Upload your documents
- Pay the Uni-assist fee
- Submit certified documents in hard copy to Uni-assist
