In the coming weeks, the EUS Chair will again host a series of guest lectures to which all students and staff are cordially invited.

Lecture Series „Meaning-Making in Political and Cultural Discourse”

By Prof. Dr. habil. Tetiana Krysanova of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Luzk, Ukraine)

Schedule:

  • 10:30 - 11:30: Discourse as environment for meaning making.
  • 11:45 – 12:45: How meanings are made in discourse – The Samurai way. 
  • 13:30 – 14:30: Film discourse analysis – some theoretical and empirical issues.
  • From 14:30: Concluding discussion.

  • 10:30-12:00: “Glory to heroines”: women’s participation in the Euromaidan protests of 2013-2014

  • 12:30-14:00: "A nation exists as long as there are men ready to fight for it": men, and masculinities on Euromaidan protests and war in Ukraine

  • 14:30-16:00: “Girls, let’s close the sky”: women’s resistance in Russia’s war in Ukraine

Due to limited room capacities, a short and informal registration via e-mail to lys.ziebell@ovgu.deis required. The lectures with concluding discussions will take place within the framework of the international cooperation and exchange program Erasmus+ Partner Countries/Ukraine of the European Studies program.

 

The guest lectures will be given by Dr. phil. Tatjana Samostyan in the framework of the IMUDE Project (Jean Monnet Chair) accompanying the seminars Kerndiskurse und Theorien der Kulturwissenschaften und Ukraine zwischen Ost und West: Konflikte, Geschichte und Mythen organisiert.
