As part of the Jean Monnet Chair, a research colloquium for PhD students took place on February 4, 2025, in the Faculty of Humanities (FHW-G40) at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The event was organised by the Chairs of "Governance in the European Multilevel System" (Prof. Dr. Eva Heidbreder) and "Sustainable Development" (Prof. Dr. Michael Böcher).
Participants presented a diverse range of fascinating research projects addressing contemporary European issues. Topics included service-learning in sustainability, trade and fiscal governance, the implementation of the EU internal market, the recruitment of parliamentarians in Eastern Germany, and gender equality in the European Union.
The event featured a structured program consisting of research presentations, a Q&A session, and a detailed feedback round. The discussions fostered an engaging interdisciplinary exchange, providing valuable input for further development of the presented projects.
Supported by the Jean Monnet Chair ,the colloquium highlighted the significance of this format in advancing European research. Its success underscores the importance of dialogue among researchers from various disciplines to collaboratively analyze Europe's complex challenges and develop innovative solutions.
We extend our gratitude to all participants for their inspiring contributions and look forward to hosting similar events in the future!
