Master's Projects in Dialogue: Postersession at the Long Night of Science
During the Long Night of Science, two groups of Master's students in European Studies presented their current projects in a poster session. The first group focused on social cohesion in the context of Chemnitz 2025, while the second group compared EU enlargement discourses in Ukraine and the Western Balkans. The final results will be showcased in October during orientation week.

Exploring Constitutional Dimensions of EU Fiscal Governance
On June 14, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg hosted the PROSPER Network Event “Constitutional Demands and Dynamics in EU Fiscal and Economic Governance” as part of the Long Night of Science. The event featured a keynote by Tiziano Zgaga (LMU Munich) and a discussion on EU fiscal reform, with the next PROSPER event to be held in Rotterdam.

Reminder Long Night of Science
On 14 June 2025, OVGU will host a full day of events on EU fiscal policy as part of the Jean Monnet Network PROSPER. The academic workshop (13:15–16:45) is open to interested students. A public panel discussion will follow at 18:30 as part of the Long Night of the Sciences – no registration required, also available via livestream.
Invitation: PROSPER Workshop & Public Panel on EU Fiscal and Economic Governance
On June 14, 2025, the Jean Monnet Chair in Democratic and Effective Governance and the PROSPER Network at OVGU will host an international academic workshop and a public panel discussion on current challenges in EU fiscal and economic governance.
The workshop (14:00–16:45) welcomes students and researchers interested in legal, political, and economic dimensions of EU reform.
The public panel (18:30), part of the Long Night of the Sciences, explores the question: "Global challenges for the EU – how should we pay for it?"
