Study Trip to Brussels - Part 2
The second half of our study trip offered in-depth conversations and new perspectives—starting with a visit to the European Commission, including a session with Blue Book trainees and a lively discussion with a representative of DG EMPL.
After some free time exploring sunny Brussels, we continued to the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) for insights into lobbying at the EU level. The evening ended with a scenic sunset on the rooftop of the Old Stock Exchange.
Our final day included a visit to the European Parliament, where we explored the Hemicycle and followed live sessions from Strasbourg, followed by a thought-provoking exchange at the European Economic and Social Committee on civil society’s role in EU decision-making.
The journey home was filled with reflection, conversations, and growing connections.

Study Visit to the Ravensbrück Memorial
Reflections on History and Memory
On March 11, 2025, a group of students visited the Ravensbrück Memorial, a former concentration camp where only women were deported. After a long journey by train, they were divided into English- and German-speaking groups and explored the site through guided tours, discussions, and presentations. The visit provided insightful perspectives on gender dynamics, social identity, and the daily realities of the camp’s prisoners.
The exhibition of original artefacts—including clothing, newspaper articles, and the Führerhaus—made history more tangible. The long return journey allowed for reflection and discussions among students. This visit was a deeply moving and educational experience, reinforcing the importance of remembering and understanding history.
