Study Visit to the Ravensbrück Memorial
Reflections on History and Memory
On March 11, 2025, a group of students visited the Ravensbrück Memorial, a former concentration camp where only women were deported. After a long journey by train, they were divided into English- and German-speaking groups and explored the site through guided tours, discussions, and presentations. The visit provided insightful perspectives on gender dynamics, social identity, and the daily realities of the camp’s prisoners.
The exhibition of original artefacts—including clothing, newspaper articles, and the Führerhaus—made history more tangible. The long return journey allowed for reflection and discussions among students. This visit was a deeply moving and educational experience, reinforcing the importance of remembering and understanding history.
